If this sounds like you

Adjustments help, but only so far.

You've been showing up, doing the work. The adjustments calm things down. But the pain keeps creeping back, recovery takes longer than it used to, and that one stubborn area, your knee, your shoulder, your low back, just won't quite let go.

If your body's response to chiropractic care has plateaued, the issue is rarely the adjustment. It's the soft tissue and joint inflammation underneath. That's exactly the layer ozone and homeopathic injections target.

Same pain, every visit

You feel better leaving the office, then it's right back by day three.

Recovery is dragging

That sprain or tweak from weeks ago still isn't quite right. You've stopped pushing it.

Pills you don't want

NSAIDs work, but you can't keep taking them. Cortisone has its own downsides. You want something else.

Tired of waiting

Six weeks of "let's see how it responds" isn't a plan. You need traction now.

The two we offer

Two precise tools for two different jobs.

Both are quick, both attach to a regular chiropractic visit, and both target the source rather than masking the symptom. Dr. Drussel selects which one (or both) fits your situation during your visit.

Regenerative · Anti-inflammatory · Tissue repair

Ozone Injection

Medical-grade ozone (O₃) injected directly into a painful joint, ligament, or trigger point. Ozone increases local oxygen utilization, reduces inflammation at the cellular level, and stimulates the body's own repair response. It's the heavier-hitting option for chronic and stubborn cases.

$125 per injection Time: 5 extra minutes during your visit Booked as: Add-on to a chiropractic appointment

Patients pick this for:

  • Chronic knee, shoulder, hip, or low-back pain
  • Sports injuries that aren't fully healing
  • Tendinitis (elbow, achilles, rotator cuff)
  • Plateaued progress after weeks of adjustments
  • Degenerative joints where surgery isn't yet on the table
  • Persistent muscle trigger points that keep firing

What to expect: Quick injection at the painful area during your visit. Mild soreness or warmth at the site for 24 to 48 hours is normal. Most patients report meaningful change within 2 to 4 sessions, often paired with adjustments and soft-tissue work for compounding effect.

Pain relief · Recovery · Drug-free

Homeopathic Injection

A precision injection of clinical homeopathic remedies (formulations like Traumeel and Zeel) delivered to the area of pain or injury. Used for soft-tissue injuries, post-workout recovery, and chronic pain when patients want a non-pharmaceutical option. The lighter-touch sister to ozone.

$55 per injection Time: 5 extra minutes during your visit Booked as: Add-on to a chiropractic appointment

Patients pick this for:

  • Acute soft-tissue injuries (strains, sprains, tweaks)
  • Chronic muscle pain and inflammation
  • Post-workout or post-event recovery
  • Joint pain when over-the-counter meds aren't working
  • Patients avoiding pharmaceutical or steroid options
  • Pre-event prep for athletes (3 to 5 days out)

What to expect: Brief injection during your visit. Minimal to no downtime. Most patients add this to a regular adjustment for an extra layer of recovery support, especially after hard training or before a big event.

The cost of waiting

Chronic inflammation doesn't fix itself. It compounds.

Every week a painful joint stays inflamed, the surrounding tissue compensates, scar tissue lays down, and movement patterns get sloppier. By the time most patients book a "real" intervention, they're treating six months of compounding damage instead of the original injury.

Why the people who come in early do better: The patients we see catch the most ground are the ones who address the pain when it's still annoying, not when it's debilitating. Earlier injections, fewer sessions, faster recovery. Waiting it out is expensive in time and outcome.

Why patients choose Dr. Drussel

An integrated practitioner, not a single-tool clinician.

Most chiropractors stop at adjustments. Most injection clinics don't understand the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Dustin Drussel sits at the rare intersection: a Doctor of Chiropractic with a Master's in Sports Rehabilitation, trained to read the whole picture, and equipped to treat each layer with the right tool.

  • Doctor of Chiropractic + Master of Science in Sports Rehabilitation from Logan College of Chiropractic
  • 15+ years treating patients across chiropractic, sports rehab, acupuncture, and functional medicine
  • Practitioner-judgment approach: he tells you when an injection makes sense, not the other way around
  • Same-day chair-side injection during your regular visit. No second appointment, no second copay
  • Integrative care plan: adjustments + soft-tissue + injection working together for compounding effect
What patients tell us

The pattern we see, again and again.

"I'd been getting adjustments for a torn rotator cuff for two months. Felt better, then back to square one every week. We added ozone to three visits in a row. Third week was the first time I slept through the night without shoulder pain in over a year."

M.K.
Recreational golfer, mid-40s · Orem

"Knee pain on every run was killing my training. Cortisone wasn't an option, I'd already done two rounds. Tried ozone instead. Six weeks later I ran my first 10k pain-free in over a year. Wish I'd done it months earlier."

A.S.
Long-distance runner, late 30s · Provo

"I show up to every adjustment with one or two homeopathic injections after my Saturday rugby matches. Recovery time is night and day compared to last season. Less swelling, fewer dead-leg Mondays."

J.R.
Amateur rugby player, late 20s · Lindon

vs the other options

How injections stack up against the usual playbook.

Most patients pick this after they've tried adjustments alone, NSAIDs, or are weighing cortisone or referrals. Here's the honest comparison.

Ozone & Homeopathic Injection Cortisone Injection Surgery / Referral Out NSAIDs Long-Term
Targets the cause Stimulates tissue repair Masks inflammation Definitive but invasive Suppresses symptoms
Healing tissue Promotes regeneration Can degrade tissue with repeat use Mixed (depends on procedure) Slows tissue healing

Honest answers

Frequently asked questions.

What is ozone therapy?
Ozone therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses medical-grade ozone (O3), a molecule made of three oxygen atoms, injected directly into a painful or injured area. Unlike steroid injections that suppress inflammation, ozone stimulates the body's own repair response by increasing local oxygen utilization, modulating inflammation at the cellular level, and prompting tissue regeneration. It has been used clinically in Europe for decades and is a recognized regenerative medicine option in the United States for chronic pain and joint degeneration.
How does an ozone injection work for joint pain?
Once injected into a painful joint, ligament, or trigger point, ozone increases local oxygen delivery and triggers a controlled cellular stress response that activates the body's healing pathways. It modulates inflammation (reducing the chronic, destructive kind) while stimulating fibroblast and stem cell activity that rebuilds connective tissue. The result is reduced pain plus actual tissue repair, rather than just symptom suppression. Most patients see meaningful change within 2 to 4 sessions for chronic conditions.
What conditions do ozone injections treat?
Ozone injections work best for chronic and stubborn musculoskeletal conditions: chronic knee, shoulder, hip, and low-back pain; tendinitis (tennis elbow, achilles, rotator cuff); plantar fasciitis; degenerative joint conditions where surgery is not yet indicated; sports injuries that have stopped responding to standard care; and persistent muscle trigger points. They are not appropriate for acute infections, certain blood disorders, or pregnancy.
Where can I get ozone injections in Utah?
In Utah Valley, ozone injections are available at Integrative Motion in Orem (61 W University Pkwy, 84058). Dr. Dustin Drussel, DC, MS administers them as a 5-minute add-on during regular chiropractic visits. We serve patients from Orem, Provo, Lindon, Pleasant Grove, Vineyard, and American Fork. Few chiropractors in the area offer ozone, and the integrative approach (combining adjustments, soft-tissue work, and injection therapy in one visit) is rare. Call (801) 396-1100 or book online.
How much do ozone injections cost?
At Integrative Motion in Orem, ozone injections are $125 per injection and homeopathic injections are $55 per injection, both as add-ons to a regular chiropractic visit. There are no hidden fees or membership requirements. Most patients need 2 to 4 sessions for chronic conditions, so total out-of-pocket investment is typically $250 to $500. Compare to cortisone (often covered by insurance but tissue-degrading with repeated use), PRP ($500 to $1,500 per injection), or surgery (thousands plus recovery time).
Are ozone injections safe?
When administered by a trained provider at therapeutic concentrations, ozone injections have a strong safety profile. The most common side effect is mild local soreness or warmth at the injection site for 24 to 48 hours, similar to a workout-induced ache. Serious adverse events are rare. Patients with G6PD deficiency, severe hyperthyroidism, recent heart attack, active hemorrhage, or pregnancy should avoid ozone therapy. Dr. Drussel reviews your medications and history before administering any injection.
Are ozone injections covered by insurance?
Generally no. In the United States, ozone therapy is considered an integrative or complementary treatment, and most insurance carriers do not cover it. The chiropractic visit itself may be covered if you have chiropractic benefits, with the injection paid out-of-pocket. We can provide a superbill on request if you want to submit for HSA or FSA reimbursement. Total transparency on pricing: $125 ozone, $55 homeopathic, no add-on fees.
How do ozone injections compare to PRP and stem cell?
All three are regenerative medicine options that work differently. Ozone ($125) stimulates oxygen utilization and the body's own repair response, with results across 2 to 4 sessions. PRP (platelet-rich plasma, typically $500 to $1,500 per injection) uses your own blood platelets to deliver concentrated growth factors. Stem cell therapy ($3,000 to $10,000+ per injection) introduces mesenchymal cells to support tissue regeneration. Ozone is the lowest-cost regenerative option and works well for soft-tissue and early-stage joint conditions. PRP and stem cell are usually reserved for more advanced cases.
What is Traumeel? What is Zeel?
Traumeel and Zeel are clinical homeopathic preparations made by Heel/MediNatura, used by integrative practitioners worldwide. Traumeel is a multi-ingredient anti-inflammatory formula often used for acute soft-tissue injuries, sprains, strains, and bruises. Zeel is formulated for chronic joint pain and osteoarthritis. Both are injectable, drug-free alternatives for patients who want to avoid NSAIDs or cortisone. They have minimal side effects and are commonly used in European sports medicine. At Integrative Motion they are $55 per injection as a 5-minute add-on to a chiropractic visit.
Can ozone injections help me avoid surgery?
In some cases, yes. Patients with chronic joint conditions where surgery has been recommended (knee, shoulder, hip) often benefit from a trial of ozone therapy first, especially when the joint is not yet end-stage. The goal is to reduce inflammation, stimulate tissue repair, and restore function so that surgery becomes unnecessary or can be delayed. Ozone is not a guaranteed alternative, and severely degenerated joints may still need surgical intervention. Dr. Drussel evaluates each case individually and refers out when surgery is the better path.
Does it hurt?
A small needle stick, similar to a flu shot. Most patients report mild local soreness for 24 to 48 hours afterward, similar to how you feel a day after a tough workout. The injection itself takes seconds.
Can I get an injection on my first visit?
In most cases yes, but Dr. Drussel does an exam and history first to make sure it's the right call for your situation. If it's not, you'll only pay for the visit, not the injection.
I'm pregnant or on blood thinners. Is this OK?
Mention this when booking or at check-in. Dr. Drussel reviews medications and conditions before any injection and will recommend skipping if there's any concern. Pregnancy is a contraindication for ozone. Blood thinners require careful evaluation. Patient safety always wins.
What if I just want to talk first?
Call (801) 396-1100 and ask for a quick consult. We'd rather answer your questions for five minutes than have you book a visit you're not sure about.
